
The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) has supported the LIFE Pinnarca project (Territorio Nacra, La Nacra en el Mar Menor) to prevent the extinction of Pinna nobilis in the Mar Menor, Murcia, Spain.
The LIFE Pinnarca project aims to prevent the extinction of Pinna nobilis in the short and medium term. To achieve this, it implements urgent measures through a consortium of experts.
As part of this initiative, I was tasked with developing an engaging and innovative approach for an outreach campaign to raise awareness, inform, and encourage public collaboration in efforts to prevent its extinction.

What is Pinna nobilis?
Pinna nobilis is a bivalve mollusk that inhabits Posidonia oceanica and Cymodocea nodosa meadows. It is a filter-feeding organism that consumes plankton and organic particles found in the water, playing a crucial role in maintaining water transparency.
